The Day Program provides support to clients participating in the Community Options Childrens’ Program who are having challenges and are unable or refuse to participate in a regular community school setting for a variety of reasons.
The program’s main objective is to work with the young people on their particular challenges to help them return to and achieve success in the public school system. The Day Program Coordinator acts as a liaison with schools, the home, and youth agencies advocating for the unique needs of these young people.
Participants receive support with academics, life skills, social skills and behaviours. The program is supported by a psychologist and youth workers in the community homes. Staff work together to support goals, friendships and eventually independence for the young clients.
