How it Works

The Foundation is led by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of members from the Community, Centre staff and designated KRRC Board members. Together they work to plan fundraising opportunities and profile building activities.

While KRRC receives funding through the NS Department of Community Services, monies raised through the Foundation support special client projects and programs that might not otherwise be possible.

Some of the special projects and programs that have been funded recently by the Apple Tree Foundation:

  • Welch Allyn Patient Monitors
  • AED Purchase for Plank Industries
  • $25,000 donation towards the purchase of a new Wheelchair Accessible van

The Foundation also gratefully accepts general and memorial donations, and issues tax receipts to donors.
